I am proud and excited to announce the launch of a new triathlon and multisport training group in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This endeavor has been 20 years in the making, but the stars had never aligned quite right to get it off the ground–until now. The difference now, compared to the past, is that I am finally (somewhat) settled down. I spent 13 years in the Navy and then bounced around from Washington, D.C.; San Antonio; and Sonoma, Calif., before landing in DFW three years ago. It also helps that I am surrounded by an incredible group of friends and fellow triathletes (and marathoners) who share the same zeal for fun and fitness.
IronTex is for triathletes of all ages and fitness levels. It doesn’t matter if you have no experience in the sport or if you are a seasoned competitor who routinely places in your age group. We are a group dedicated to having fun and supporting each teammate’s endeavor to achieve their goals. And, as my friend Kim likes to say, we participate in triathlons because “we get to.” Never take these opportunities for granted.
This blog will provide training tips and updates, insights on the physical and psychological mechanics of triathlon, race reports, and probably a few random musings about things not related to the sport. This is also meant to be a dialogue, so commentary and guest posts are welcome.
Happy Racing…

Congrats Mike! I’m super excited to join and ready to start training again. Can’t wait to set a PR goal for myself.
Thanks, Mandy. I am really looking forward to this endeavor.
